A Michelin-honored restaurant at the center of an embezzlement investigation closed over the weekend in Sonoma County, according to reports.
Molti Amici announced Sunday on social media that it was permanently closed.
Police confirmed Monday to The Press Democrat that a probe into an alleged $60,000 embezzlement involving the restaurant remained open, although two of its owners told the newspaper in July the situation was resolved.
Located in Healdsburg, Molti Amici was the latest North Bay restaurant to receive a Michelin California Bib Gourmand award, according to The Press Democrat, which reported that CEO and co-owner Jason Cutrer said Sunday the business was “not in a good financial position to continue.”
