Legendary music producer Quincy Jones, known for his collaborations with Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, has passed away at 91. Over his remarkable 70-year career, Jones earned 28 Grammy Awards and was credited with producing Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller album, among many other achievements.
His publicist, Arnold Robinson, announced that Jones died peacefully at his Los Angeles home on Sunday, surrounded by family. In a statement, his family shared, “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. Although this is a tremendous loss for us, we celebrate the extraordinary life he lived, knowing there will never be another like him.”
Jones’s career spanned multiple roles, from record producer and composer to film and television producer. He was married three times and had seven children, including actress Rashida Jones, recognized for her roles on NBC as Karen Filippelli in The Office and Ann Perkins in Parks and Recreation.
